Director General Ronald dela Rosa, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has been invited as guest of honor and speaker during opening ceremonies of 24th Defense & Sporting Arms Show (DSAS) tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the MegaTrade Hall, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.
Dela Rosa will be joined by other PNP officials in the event, including those from the Civil Service Group (CSG) and Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) which are partners of the Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines, Inc. (AFAD) in promoting responsible gun ownership in the country.
Lawyer Hector Rodriguez, AFAD president, hailed the President’s directive to all government agencies to streamline the requirements and hasten the processing time of transactions with the public.
A wide array of new firearms, gun accessories and shooting apparel will be available at the exhibit area where more than 50 of the country’s major gun manufacturers and dealers will set up booths to assist visitors.
During the five-day gun show, AFAD also allotted a booth at the events venue in honor of policemen who were killed while performing their sworn duty of protecting the civilian populace.
As a tradition, AFAD also organized free seminars on the License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF) application, responsible gun ownership, self-defense, and disaster survival techniques to be conducted by experts.
