Could this be the day the Blazers finally put their woes behind?
College of St. Benilde seeks to end its misfortunes when it tackles Lyceum today in NCAA men’s basketball at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Blazers hope to end their five-game losing skid that put them at the bottom of the standings in their 4 p.m. confrontation with the Pirates.
Still licking its wounds from a 90-63 drubbing at the hands of fancied San Beda last week, St. Benilde is still struggling to get the right formula that would finally put them in the win column.
The Blazers boast of a young but promising squad, but they need to sustain their energy while trying to limit their turnovers if they want to crawl out of the dark cellar.
Clement Leutcheu is expected to banner St. Benilde with his persistent all-around efforts, including a double-double performance of 19 points and 15 rebounds against San Beda.
But Leutcheu needs strong support especially from Yankie Haruna, Carlo Young and Jj Domingo.
So far, the Blazers average a losing margin of 13.2 points per game, with their closest coming against defending champion Letran Knights, 56-52.
However, expect Lyceum to make it hard for St. Benilde as the Pirates aim to improve its 1-3 win-loss record as well.
