KOREAN comedian Ryan Bang has said that he loves the Philippines so much that it would be very hard to leave it.
“Sobrang mahal ko ang Pilipinas! Hindi ito showbiz pero may personality ang bawa’t Pilipino na sobrang bait nila.
Gusto kong tumulong ditto sa Pilipinas. ’Yun talaga ang pangarap ko,” said Bang during an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” on ABS-CBN recently.
Bang has said that he received offers to appear on Korean television after he started to make a name for himself in the Philippines.
“May mga offer sa akin na show sa South Korea. Meron din drama. Pero hindi ko talaga maiwanan ang Pilipinas. Siguro mag-guest lang ako dun tapos balik na ako agad dito,” he added.
Bang has said that the Korean Broadcasting System, the national public broadcaster of South Korea, has produced a documentary about his life and career in the Philippines. It was shown for five days with different episodes.
Despite a flourishing career, Bang said that he has broken up with his girlfriend recently. He did not divulge details of the split.
Bang, whose real name is Bang Hyun Sung, said that he is not dating anybody these days.
The comedian said that he is now focused on his two television shows – the daily noontime program “It’s Showtime” and “Banana Sundae.” A third show is coming soon, he added.
Bang rose to fame when he joined the “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash of 2010.” He has recorded two studio albums – “I Lilly Lilly Like It! Ryan Bang Party Party Hits!” (2011) and “Shopping” (2015).
He has appeared on television shows and movies, the latest of which was “Beauty and the Bestie” starring Coco Martin and Vice Ganda.
Bang is one of two popular Koreans in the Philippines along with Sandara Park who is making waves in Korean pop music.
