The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced the arrest of the alleged partner of a convicted drug dealer and the confiscation of P1.2 million worth of shabu during a police buy-bust operation in Quezon City early yesterday morning.
Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, QCPD director, identified the suspect as Jennifer Hong, 30, a Filipino-Chinese, a resident of Block 8, Lot 9, Villa Lourdes Town Homes, Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.
She was arrested by operatives of the District Anti-illegal Drugs-Special Operations Task Group (DAID-SOTG) led by Senior Inspector Ernesto Santos Jr. and the Philippine National Police-Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) in an entrapment operation in the corner of Agoho and Almasiga Sts., Barangay Claro, Congressional Avenue, Quezon City.
Hong was cuffed after selling 500 grams of shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
Considered a high value target in the AIDG Case Operational Plan (COPLAN), the woman is the partner of a convicted drug dealer who has been serving sentence for three years now at Quezon City Annex Jail in Bicutan, police said.
According to Police Supt. Godfredo Tul-o, QCPD DAID-SOTG chief, among the evidence seized from the suspect were one plastic bag of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing more or less 500 grams with a street value P1.2 million; P600,000 in six bundles of fake money with one real P1,000 bill used as marked money; and two cellular phones.
Eleazar said the PNP AIDG and QCPD-DAID are conducting a deeper investigation into reports that illegal drug activity has been going on Bicutan jail, with the woman and her jailed lover as among those involved.
Eleazar commended the DAID-SOTG personnel for the successful arrest of the woman, a mid-level player in illegal drugs distribution in the city.
