Actress-television host Iya Villania has given birth to a healthy baby boy named Antonio Primo, her first child by husband television host Drew Arellano.
“Ang hirap pala manganak! Kahit naka-epidural. Ang hirap, pero sobrang sarap pagkalabas ni baby,” said Villania, in a phone patch interview on “24 Oras” news program on GMA 7 last August 30.
Villania, 30, said that her husband was beside her during her labor. She added that baby came early as she was supposed to give birth on September 4.
The Australian-Filipino celebrity recalled that she and her husband initially went to the hospital after she felt fermentation. They thought that she was giving birth. But it was just false alarm and they went home.
Later she felt contractions that lasted for six hours.
At 12:06 p.m. Aug. 30, Antonio Primo was born. He weighs 2.9 kilos.
Arellano, 36, and Villania got married in 2014. Prior to that, they were sweethearts for 10 years.
Villania starred her TV career when she appeared as gamejock for the show “Gamechannel” on IBC. Later, she was seen in the series “Click” and “Walang Hanggan” on GMA 7.
For years, she switched networks and worked for ABS-CBN and TV 5. Since 2014 up to the present, GMA 7 has been her home network. Before she went on leave due to her pregnancy, Villania is segment host for “Chika Minute” portion of the Kapuso news program and “Lip Sync Battle Philippines.”
Arellano currently hosts the educational show called “AHA!” on GMA 7 and “Biyahe ni Drew” on GMA News TV. He also owns the Gruppo Barbero barber shop.
