The Philippine Basketball Association will hold its Alagang PBA blood donation project today, Sunday at the Big Dome.
A healthy turnout is expected to show up for this noble undertaking to be held in partnership with Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay Foundation and the Smart Araneta Coliseum in cooperation with Anako, Gardenia, Crystal Clear, Cherifer, Made in Candy and Pic Poc.
“Blood has really no substitute. A lot of people need blood transfusions everyday, but sometimes the hospitals’ supply do not match the need for it. We hope to somehow, through this activity, help in answering that need,” says PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa.
Players and league staff will be assisting doctors and nurses from St. Luke’s Medical Center, Chinese General Hospital and Philippine Orthopedic Center who will conduct the procedure from 3-6 p.m.
“This is a truly meaningful undertaking and I’m encouraging our fans to join us in this project. Not only is blood letting good for the body, it also helps save lives,” adds PBA Board Chairman Robert Non.
