Get busy. Surround yourself with your loved ones. Stay beautiful.
These are the words of wisdom of actor John Lapus to members of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transexual) community who have failed relationships.
“Based on my personal experience, dapat kapag may karelasyon ka, magtira ka rin sa sarili mo,” said Lapus, during an exclusive interview on the sidelines of Mr. Gay World Philippines 2016 contest held at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City recently.
Of course malulungkot ka in every failed relationship;”
The “Doble Kara” star said that he has learned a lot from failed gay relationships that he knew what to do the next time.
“Medyo matagal ako maka-move on. But I’ve learned my lesson in every failed relationship. I had three failed relationships,” Lapus said. He gave unsolicited advice to LGBT members who are fixing a broken heart.
“Dapat you should surround yourself with the people you love tulad ng family and friends;”
“Keep yourself busy. Parang it’s God’s way of saying na magconcentrate ka muna dyan sa mga ginagawa mo,” he added.
For 10 years now, Lapus has chosen to stay single or without a boyfriend.
“I stopped having a serious relationship now. Yung una ko two years, and then ’yung No. 2 at 3 parehong one year lang. Pag straight ’yung guy mahirap magwork talaga dahil in the end babae pa rin ang hanap nya,” he said.
Lapus, 43, said that he remains friends with his three exes. He also believes there is forever in relationships.
Lapus will star in the new comedy film “Working Beks” under Viva Films. To be shown in November, the movie also stars Edgar Allan Guzman, TJ Trinidad, Prince Stefan and Joey Paras.
“I play the role of Gorgeous, ’yung pinakakawawa sa limang beki.
The comedian also said that he could relate to his character in the movie because in a way he also helps his family.
Lapus is a graduate of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila where he was an active member of Teatro Tomasino.
