Games Today
(Philsports Arena, Pasig City)
12:30 p.m. – Air Force vs IEM (m)
4 p.m. – Customs vs Coast Guard (w)
6 p.m. – BaliPure vs Laoag (w)
Bureau of Customs and BaliPure try to book the last two semifinal berths when they take on separate rivals today in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The BoC Transformers collide with winless Coast Guard Lady Dolphins at 4 p.m., while the Water Defenders tangle with the Laoag Power Smashers at 6 p.m.
Currently at fourth place, a win for Customs would improve its 3-2 win-loss tally.
BaliPure, for its part, hopes to hike its 3-1 card that would tie them at second place with Pocari Sweat with one match left in the eliminations.
The Water Defenders are now peaking at the right time as they are on a three-game winning streak, including a 25-13, 25-23, 25-17 triumph over University of the Philippines in their previous game.
But BaliPure expects that Laoag would not crumble easily as the Power Smashers seek to end their three-game losing skid.
Imports Kate Morrell and Kaylee Manns are set to banner the Water Defenders anew after running in fourth in the Best Scorer race, while enough help would be provided by former collegiate standouts Amy Ahomiro, Dzi Gervacio, and libero Denden Lazaro.
Laoag, meanwhile, boasts of former Most Valuable Player Grethcel Soltones, Jorelle Singh, Chie Saet, and Aiko Urdas.
To beat BaliPure, Laoag must regain its old fire back, which was not evident in its 25-13, 25-20, 26-24 loss to Pocari Sweat two days back.
