Game Sunday
(Olivarez Sports Center, Parañaque City)
8 p.m. – Alab Pilipinas vs Kaohsiung
Bobby Ray Parks fired 30 points as Alab Pilipinas barged into the win column after defeating the Kaohsiung Truth, 91-82, Sunday night in the ASEAN Basketball League at the Baliwag Star Arena in Baliwag, Bulacan.
Parks also had seven rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks for Alab, which bounced back after squandering leads of 11 and 10 in the 71-66 loss to the Singapore Slingers last Nov. 27 at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Fil-American Lawrence Domingo added had 21 points, four rebounds and three assists, making the combined 16-point output of Korean brothers Lee Seung Jun and Lee Dong Jun, who missed the Singapore game due to sickness.
Alab Pilipinas moved into third place after two weeks of hostilities in the six-team league, trailing only the unbeaten Slingers (3-0) and the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (2-0).
Singapore remained perfect after crushing the Saigon Heat, 90-85, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Wesley Hsu finished with 23 points while former University of the Philippines star Mikee Reyes added 14 points in his ABL debut but Kaohsiung dropped its third straight assignment.
Kaohsiung made the game competitive in the first half but Parks and Domingo combined with JR Cawaling to give Alab a 42-41 lead at the break.
Domingo and Parks dominated on the offensive end during the second half, enabling Alab to put the fight out of the Truth.
