The Department of Labor and Employment has allowed 48 establishments to continue manufacturing and selling pyrotechnics and firecrackers in Bulacan after it lifted the Work Stoppage Order issued against them last month.
DoLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the WSO against these establishments was lifted after they complied with general labor and occupational safety and health standards.
“The 48 establishments were compliant with labor and OSH standards and other pertinent labor laws, rules, and regulations,” Bello said during the DoLE 83rd anniversary celebration at the Occupational Safety and Health Center in Quezon City yesterday.
They were part of the 88 establishments engaged in the manufacture and sale of pyrotechnics and firecrackers in Bulacan which were inspected by the DoLE Regional Office No. 3.
Twenty-four are engaged in manufacturing and 64 are in retail and selling firecrackers and pyrotechnics.
Bello said there are still 40 establishments that are undergoing assessment from the regional office and are still prohibited from engaging in manufacturing and selling of firecrackers and pyrotechnics. (PNA and Samuel P. Medenilla)
