Vice President Leni G. Robredo is spending Christmas on Sunday with her family overseas.
The Vice President, former chairperson of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, will leave the country tomorrow for a vacation abroad.
Robredo will be accompanied by her daughters and is expected to return for work on January 3.
She has said that Christmas is a chance for her to take a break for her busy schedule.
But the Vice President said she has yet to feel the spirit of Christmas. “I haven’t done anything yet for Christmas.
Maybe on vacation. The vacation is on (December) 24, by then I can prepare,” she said.
Six months after she assumed office, Robredo said she is not yet used to her job with her busy schedule and heavy workload as the country’s second highest official.
“We are still adjusting because we are doing many things. Hopefully, we would be happy and be able to rest for a while,” she said.
Robredo had a hectic schedule since her inauguration in July and while she was still part of the Cabinet as HUDCC chief. (Raymund F. Antonio)
