CEBU CITY – A construction site security guard shot a father and his son who are both lawyers outside their law office due to a parking dispute.
Goering Paderanga, 62 years old, died on the spot after being shot by the suspect identified as 36-year-old Jonathan Sanchez.
Sanchez, who was arrested a few hours after the incident, told investigators he shot Paderanga’s son Gerik for refusing to move his Isuzu Trooper and allow a mixer to pass through F. Ramos Street where the lawyers’ firm is situated.
The mixer was said to be on its way to the construction site were Sanchez is assigned.
Upon hearing the gunshot, Paderanga’s father Goering immediately went out, only to be gunned down by the suspect.
Sources within the area said residents have been complaining about the heavy equipment regularly passing through their street.
Meantime Cebu City Police Office head Senior Supt Joel Doria lauded the operatives who arrested Sanchez at his mother’s house in barangay Talamban. Doria urged investigators to build up a strong case against Sanchez.
