Two Chinese will spend their Christmas in jail after being arrested for possession of some 500 kilos of shabu worth around P3 billion during a raid on a house in San Juan City yesterday, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said.
Agents of NBI Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force swooped down on a house at 309 Mangga Street corner Infanta in Barangay Little Baguio at about 2 p.m. where they found plastic bags containing shabu.
Lawyer Roel Bolivar, chief of the bureau’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force, withheld the identities of the suspects pending investigation.
Bolivar said they have yet to determine if the two Chinese are occupants of the raided house.
“Wala pa (ang pangalan), hindi pa natin i-di-disclose dahil imbentaryo muna,” Bolivar said in a telephone call three hours after the operation was launched.
According to Bolivar, a search warrant was served to the suspects, resulting in the discovery of shabu.
“Nandito ang interpreter, tatanungin siya mamaya. Wala pa kaming chance na makausap sila during the inventory,” Bolivar said. (Betheena Kae Unite)
