The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) yesterday said that policemen involved in the “Tanim Droga” incident has already been relieved and undergoing investigation.
NCRPO chief Director Oscar D. Albayalde, said no less than Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa ordered the “administrative relief” of the policemen after being caught on Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera planting drugs during a raid in a BPO company.
The policemen, whose names were withheld, are currently under restrictive custody at the NCRPO Regional Police Holding and Accounting Unit (RPHAU) facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.
The policemen, according to Sen. Panfilo Lacson, also reportedly took P9 million from the BPO company.
“We will have an impartial investigation on the matter. Their relief will pave the way for due process to set in. We don’t want fellow officers to condemn them right away. We will let them to explain their side,” said Albayalde. (Francis T. Wakefield)
