The Supreme Court (SC) affirmed yesterday the filing of three graft and malversation cases against Janet Lim Napoles, the alleged mastermind in the misuse of the outlawed Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF).
In a resolution, the SC dismissed Napoles’ petition and affirmed the resolutions issued by the Office of the Ombudsman on June 22, 2015 and Feb. 10, 2016.
Quoting from the resolution, SC’s public information assistant chief lawyer Gleo Guerra said:
“The Court resolved to dismiss the petition and affirm the resolution dated June 22, 2015 and the order dated Feb. 10, 2016 issued by the Office of the Ombudsman in OMB-C-C-13-0415 finding probable cause to indict petitioner Janet Lim Napoles and her co-respondents in the said case for three counts each of violation of Section 3 (e) of Republic Act No. 3019 and for malversation.”
It was not known immediately which of the many criminal cases against Napoles involving PDAF was covered by the SC resolution that was released yesterday. (Rey Panaligan)
