Tropical depression “Bising” is unlikely to make landfall over any part of the country but could still bring rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao within the next two to three days.
As of 10 a.m. yesterday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration located Bising at 515 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Bising has maximum sustained winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph and estimated rainfall between moderate to heavy within the tropical cyclone’s 300-km diameter.
PAGASA warned fisherfolk on the eastern coasts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao of rough to very rough seas due to the prevailing weather disturbance.
This morning, Bising will be 405 kms east-northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and 450 kms east-northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar tomorrow morning.
During this period, PAGASA said moderate to at times heavy rains and thunderstorms will be felt over Caraga. It warned of possible floods and landslides in low-lying or mountainous areas in the region.
Cloudy with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Mindanao and Eastern Visayas while cloudy skies with light rains are expected over Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley.
The weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be cloudy with isolated light rains while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. (Ellalyn V. Ruiz)
