Floyd Mayweather Jr. is happily retired and clarified that there is nothing in the works for him to fight again. The undefeated boxer made that clear though an Instagram post.
This shuns a previous report from a tabloid (The Sun) that a blockbuster fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor is nearing completion. The UFC lightweight champion was reportedly headed to Las Vegas to shoot an anti-bullying video for school children. This was part of his agreement with the Nevada Sports Commissions in connection with the water bottle-throwing incident involving Nate Diaz.
Mayweather’s IG post came shortly after UFC president Dana White told ESPN that no deal between the two is close to being done. Both have been going back-and-forth about the uncanny match which many believe is close to happening. Discussions are ongoing but nothing credible has so far gone beyond that.
