Derrick Rose of the New York Knicks has been getting some interest lately as the NBA trade deadline approaches. Several teams have reportedly inquired despite his history of injuries.
While an NBA trade for Derrick Rose may not make sense for other teams, the Minnesota Timberwolves have one – Tom Thibodeau. Everyone knows Rose played under Thibodeau so it is possible that both want to pair up once more in Minnesota, ESPN reported. But the question now is whether it would be wise.
Derrick Rose is due to become an NBA free agent this Summer and most believe it would be best for the T-Wolves to wait. Rose is confident that he can ink another max deal despite undergoing multiple procedures on his knees.
What makes sense is that Minnesota can offer Ricky Rubio to the Knicks in exchange for Rose. A straight-up NBA trade could work financially according to NBC Sports even if the Timberwolves could easily dangle an offer to him in the NBA offseason.
