A traffic enforcer was gunned down by four motorcycle-riding gunmen while manning traffic along Osmeña Highway in Makati Tuesday afternoon.
Makati City Police identified the victim as Rommel Oliveros, a member of Makati Public Safety Assistance (MAPSA). He died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds in the back of the head and body.
Police said Oliveros was manning traffic at the corner of Valderama Street and Osmeña Highway in Barangay Bangkal, Makati, when gunmen on board two motorcycles attacked him around 4:05 p.m.
Witnesses said two of the four suspects, both back riders, alternately shot Oliveros as they appeared out of nowhere.
Oliveros managed to crawl to the side of the road but one of the backriders alighted from the motorcycles and finished him off by pumping more bullets into his head. (Martin A. Sadongdong)
