ILOILO CITY (PIA) – Farmers and farmer’s cooperatives from the 5th district of Iloilo are invited to join a free seminar-workshop on grains classification to be conducted by the National Food Authority (NFA) Iloilo Provincial Office in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
NFA Iloilo said that the activity slated on March 2, 2017, 8 a.m. at the Barotac Viejo Covered Gym, aims to educate some 100 farmers to familiarize themselves with the NFA Quality Standards Specifications for palay.
The seminar-workshop will also acquaint farmers on the proper handling and classification of their produce to help them realize a fair return of their production investments.
Likewise, the activity aims to develop skills among farmers specifically on the identification of moisture content, purity, and other quality parameters during the onset of the procurement season.
NFA Iloilo said they are looking forward for a better and stronger partnership with fellow farmers and farmer’s cooperatives in ensuring national food security and stability.
