The Philippine News Agency website is being redesigned to make it easier for visitors to browse and disseminate its content.
PNA Acting Executive Editor Luis A. Morente said the website has not been modified since its launching in 2003.
Prior to breaking online news, PNA started as a teletype-based news organization established in 1973.
Morente noted that the News and Information Bureau, PNA’s mother unit headed by Director Virginia Arcilla-Agtay, has committed to upgrade PNA’s equipment and services in time for the agency’s 44th anniversary on March 1.
“With the unprecedented support from our new officials, PNA will soon have an attractive and user friendly website in the coming months,” Morente said.
Aside from making it easier to navigate, the new website is also expected to be more accessible and mobile-friendly.
Morente added that PNA recently had its 15mbps fiber connection installed under the Duterte administration to have a more stable connection, its first upgrade since 2003.
As part of efforts to enhance its online presence, PNA has recently launched social media accounts in Facebook and Twitter (@pnagovph) to disseminate timely and relevant news to a wider audience.
