University of the East (UE) finally ended its string of setbacks as it downed Adamson, 25-22, 20-25, 25-17, 25-18, yesterday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
In a battle of two winless teams, the Lady Warriors showed more determination despite a second-set stumble for their first victory in seven outings at the end of the first-round eliminations.
Shaya Adorador did not lose hope for UE as she shone all throughout to finish with 23 points built on 20 spikes, two aces and one block.
“Ginamit lang naming inspiration yung mga natutunan namin sa mga past games namin,” said Shaya Adorador.
Trailing 15-13 in the fourth frame after three straight errors, the Lady Warriors bounced back with strong serves from Angelica Dacaymat and off-speed spikes from Adorador to seal the win.
