President Duterte has appointed Narciso Santiago Jr., the husband of the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, as the Presidential Adviser for Revenue Enhancement.
Official documents released by Malacañang yesterday said Mr. Santiago will have the rank of Undersecretary.
He had been Presidential Adviser for Revenue Enhancement before, during President now Pampanga Rep. Gloria M. Arroyo’s term from 2004 to 2010.
Duterte also appointed Taguig City Regional Trial Court Judge Louis Acosta as associate justice of the Court of Appeals; former Philippine Consul General to Hong Kong Bernardita Catalla as new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Lebanon; J. Paolo Villa-Agustin Santos as Movie and Television Review and Classification Board member for a term that will expire on September 30, 2017.
Vigan City, Ilocos Sur Mayor Juan Carlo Medina, Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, and Quirino Gov. Junie Cua as chairpersons of the Regional Development Councils of the National Economic and Development Authority in the Ilocos, Calabarzon, and Cagayan Valley, respectively, for three years; and former Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority consultant Kennedy Costales as Executive Director III of the PhilFIDA of the Department of Agriculture.
