The body of a Chinese national, who was gunned down by unidentified men inside his SUV in ParaƱaque City last Tuesday, remains unclaimed at a funeral parlor in Las PiƱas, making it hard for investigators to locate his relatives, police said yesterday.
Probers are waiting for the family of the victim, Ben Chua, 42, of DasmariƱas St., Binondo, to get his body from the Peopleās Funeral homes in Las PiƱas City.
SPO2 Israel Perez, case investigator, said they have sent a copy of the spot report and Chuaās picture to the Chinese Embassy for them to contact the victimās relatives.
Investigators also sent a verification request to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to confirm if Chua is indeed the owner of the Toyota RAV-8 (XRK-301) he was driving at the time of the attack.
Last Tuesday night, Chua was driving the Toyota RAV-8 along Pacific Avenue in Barangay Don Galo when the occupants of a Toyota Innova and white van, both had no plate numbers, shot him. (Martin A. Sadongdong)
