Assunta De Rossi, considered one of the country’s finest actresses, is back in a lead role via “Higanti” (Revenge), an explosive action-drama film that tells how a woman fights to get back everything stolen from her.
Assunta is reunited on the big screen with her “Hubog” leading man, Jay Manalo, in the film directed by Rommel Ricafort.
She bagged the elusive Urian Best Actress for her landmark film “Hubog” (2001) by master director Joel Lamangan.
Manalo has an Urian Best Actor trophy for Erik Matti’s “Prosti” (2002) and a FAMAS Best Actor plum for Francis Posadas’ “Bayaran” (2003).
With the logline “Lintik lang ang walang higanti!”, the movie also stars Meg Imperial, Katrina Halili, Jon Lucas, Kiko Matos, DJ Durano, Alwyn Uytingco.
“Higanti,” produced by Gitana Film Productions, opens March 22 (Wednesday) in cinemas.
