Police are set to file murder charges against two suspects involved in the shooting and eventual death of a traffic enforcer in Pasay City.
Suspects Cairoden Ma-ngundao alias Nashro Ba-gindulo and wife Norhinia Sema alias “Agua Sema” and “Rose Sema” remain at large and are said to be online sellers of garments and residents of Bella Vista Subdivision, Brgy. Santiago, General Trias, Cavite.
The two are tagged in the killing of 46-year-old Noel Luna, a member of Pasay City Traffic Management Office.
Mangundao and Sema were traversing along EDSA and Roxas Boulevard onboard a silver Toyota when Luna’s fellow enforcer tried to apprehend them over a traffic obstruction last Tuesday.
Instead of submitting himself, Mangundao sped off resulting to Luna chasing them.
Mangundao drove towards a Muslim mosque along Park Avenue Extension where he eventually shot the victim thrice, hitting the enforcer in the head, chest and armpit.
“Previously, it was reported that the name was (Bagindulo), it turned out that the primary suspect’s real name was Mangundao. This is crucial because we want to get the right names if we are to file the case soon,” said Pasay City police chief Senior Supt. Lawrence Coop.
Coop bared that Mangundao owned a caliber .45 pistol when checked by the Station Special Investigation Team (SSIT) through the Firearms and Explosive Division (FED) of the Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory in Camp Crame.
“He (Mangundao) is a licensed gun holder, the SSIT requested FED to cross match the bullets found at the crime scene,” added Coop.
The wife of Luna, alias Nida (subject requested her true identity to be hidden for security purposes), hopes that police “won’t get tired of looking for the suspects.”
“I still have no update, I hope they won’t get tired of finding the culprits. I want justice for my husband,” Nida said.
Luna, who served the Pasay traffic group for ten years before his untimely death, had four children with Nida, all girls aged 22, 15, 13, and 8.
Luna’s youngest child only learned about the incident when she came home from Bicol last Thursday.
“She cried a lot. She said, ‘Why did Papa die?’ and I couldn’t answer her. It pains me a lot,” Nida said.
