The Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office has found probable cause to indict Kristoffer Monico Ng, the man who allegedly spread the lewd photos of basketball star Kiefer Ravena and tried to extort money from the former Ateneo cager.
Ng, also an alumnus of Ateneo de Manila University, was arrested last Wednesday during an entrapment operation conducted by the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP ACG) in Quezon City.
Inquest Prosecutor Bienvenido Ocampo, however, said the filing of robbery extortion and violation of the anti-photo and video voyeurism charges against Ng before the trial court is still up for the approval of the City Chief Prosecutor.
Interviewed by reporters, Ng denied spreading Ravena’s photos on social media.
“I did not leak those photos. It was Kiefer who offered the P50,000 in exchange for information on the person he had been talking to,” Ng said.
Ng, a banking officer, is currently detained at the ACG headquarters.
In his complaint, Ravena said that on February 2017, a certain 2gweny_doc Viber account sent a message to him claiming to be a fan. They started exchanging messages that later turned to flirting.
Ravena claimed that the supposed fan would sent nude photos to him and engage him in “sexting”.
“We continued talking for a couple of weeks until I started to distance myself and not reply to her messages anymore,’’ Ravena’s statement read.
Ravena said the unknown user threatened to make public their sensual conversations if he would not send his nude pictures and videos, forcing him to accede to the demand.
Two weeks ago, photos of Ravena’s private parts accompanied with screengrabs of sexy conversations with an unidentified woman surfaced on social media.
“Now that we have the first suspect under PNP’s custody, we hope to get more leads and information so justice will be served, and harassment and blackmailing such as this would end,” said Ravena in a statement. (Chito A. Chavez)
