What’s the number one cause of sleepiness? What else but lack of sleep.
Before heading into a tomorrow full of work and study, brace yourself with the right amount of sleep hours.
If you lack sleep at night, power napping helps. Power napping is a short sleep that significantly increases brain activity and restores energy to the body. Power napping is best done during break hours of school or work, when you have ample time to rest.
Sara C. Mednick, PhD, sleep expert, praised power napping as a healthy daily routine.
“You can get incredible benefits from 15 to 20 minutes of napping. You reset the system and get a burst of alertness and increased motor performance. That’s what most people really need to stave off sleepiness and get an energy boost,” Mednick says.
A power nap’s duration usually depends on the sleeper’s personal sufficient sleep time, but the general consensus indicates that 10 to 20 minutes is the average. When you need to revitalize your senses, a quick power nap will do the trick.
