9 a.m. – UE vs CEU
10:45 a.m. NU vs Air Force
Multi-titled Cento Escolar University and Air Force outsteadied their rivals in their respective knock out matches and completed the semis cast in the 1st Rexona Women’s Invitational Tournament held over the weekend at the Buddhacare gym in Quezon City.
Mary Ann Doloque had 19 points and six rebounds while Stefh Ventura completed a double-double of 12 points and 11 boards as the CEU Lady Scorpions downed the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, 62-59.
The win gave the Lady Scorpions the difficult task of facing top seed and still unbeaten University of the East in the Final Four of the event presented by Rexona and organized by PCABL.
Both Doloque and Centura shared the Blackwater Reliable Players of the Game awards.
UE, which enjoyed a twice-to-beat advantage after completing a seven-game sweep of the elims, booked its place in the semis with an easy 71-60 win over Discovery Sports.
Like the CEU-FEU showdown, the Lady Airmen needed to walk through the tightrope before beating the Adamson-Mighty Sports Lady Falcons, 87-79, thanks to the solid contributions of Analyn Almazan and Cindy Resultay who likewise won the Blackwater Reliable Players of the Game.
Air Force, who drew 26 points from Almazan and 24 from Ventura will face No. 2 and three-time UAAP champion National University in the semis.
The Lady Bulldogs hardly flexed their muscles in blasting the University of the Philippines, 78-57, for the other semis berth.
