Fil-American Treat Huey teamed up with German Tommy Haas late Tuesday as they advanced in the second round of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters doubles event in Monaco.
Pairing up for the first time in this claycourt event, the unseeded Huey and Haas rose from an opening set meltdown before they squeaked past French duo Julien Benneteau and Lucas Pouille, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
It was a good start for Huey and Haas in this ATP 1000 series, which is the third highest tier of men’s tennis tournament after Grand Slams and the ATP World Tour Finals.
