The government has promised to continue to provide stable and secure jobs for Filipinos after more than 45,000 contractual workers have been regularized from their work.
Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said the President’s campaign promise to end contractualization has become a “reality,” citing recent government steps to abolish such illegal labor practices.
“We remain committed to provide stable and secure jobs for the Filipino people,” Abella said.
The Palace official echoed a recent statement of Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III that 45,605 workers have benefited from the government’s anti-endo campaign. They are now regular workers due to the Department of Labor and Employment’s Department Order No. 174 on contracting and subcontracting work. (Genalyn D. Kabiling)
