There is an added motivation for Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player Andray Blatche: his son Andray Jr.
A first time father, Blatche said that having his son pushes him to work harder, including a mission to help the Philippines get to the next level of FIBA sanctioned tournaments to be able to compete in the 2019 World Cup in China and possibly the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“Definitely, it changes your whole outlook on life, period,” said Blatche, a former campaigner in the NBA as member of the Washington Wizards and Brooklyn Nets.
“You have someone who depends on you, you have someone that you’re playing for and you have someone that is just in my heart and in my mind all the time,” Blatche added.
