Global-Cebu resumes its campaign in the domestic front when it battles Stallion-Laguna in today’s lone match of the Philippines Football League at the Biñan Football Stadium in Biñan, Laguna.
Playing for the first time in two weeks in the newly-formed league, Global is not only seeking a second straight win in the 4 p.m. duel but is also out to erase the memory of its disappointing draw in the AFC Cup zonal semifinals last Tuesday against Singapore’s Home United.
Global was on the brink of securing a first leg win at the Rizal Memorial Stadium when it conceded an equalizer before stoppage time for a 2-all draw.
The goal now for Global is to both hone its form before the return match on May 30 in Singapore and move up in the table of the eight-team league.
It will be the club’s first match since May 7 when it beat JPV-Marikina, 2-1, at the same venue on second half goals by Amani Aguinaldo and Paul Mulders.
