Filipino creativity and ingenuity were celebrated at the 33rd Hair and Make-Up Trends 2017 competition by the Filipino Hairdressers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (FilHair), held last May 24 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) in Pasay City.
Hair and Make-Up Trends brings together the country’s best hairdressers and makeup artists in a showcase of technique, talent, and creativity. Finalists were winners of the FilHair regional competitions nationwide.
The qualifiers competed in four categories: Men’s Cut and Blow Dry, Avant-Garde Hair Styling, Evening and Party Make-up, and Bridal Make-up.
Beauty expert and TWGRR host Ricky Reyes said that hair styling today is less about following a certain look and more of finding the right cut and color to suit the client.
The winners for this year were as follows: Men’s Cut and Blow Dry-Redgie Cruz; Avant-Garde Hairstyling-Benjie Galino; Evening Party Make-up-Rhea Mercado and Zedrick Eleponga for the Bridal Make-up who also emerged as the over-all champion.
Upcoming teen singer LA Santos, Kapuso stars Marika and Kris Bernal with One-up Boy band delighted the audience and participants as well.
