SWITCHING CHANNELS – Like television viewers, stars switch channels…usually from 2 (ABS-CBN) to 7 (GMA). And vice versa.
Richard Gutierrez just signed up with Channel 2 (and Star Cinema, too). He left Channel 7 four or five years ago, his record as primetime king unmatched. Now he and Angel Locsin are together on the Kapamilya studio. They used to be with the Kapuso channel…cast in an upcoming movie with Angelica Panganiban for Star Cinema.
Angel left GMA for greener pasture…and did exceedingly well as ABS-CBN prime talent.

OTHER STARS – Let’s look at other stars who switched channels.
Dennis Trillo languished in so-so roles as ABS-CBN talent and opted to sign up with GMA (managed by Popoy Caritativo), where he is now the No. 1 actor.
Iza Calzado was “okey lang” as GMA talent. She switched to ABS-CBN but didn’t really achieve stardom, “okey din lang.” But “direk” Jerrold Tarrog gave her the lead role in “Bliss” and merited a best actress award in Osaka.
Tom Rodriguez was “one of those” as Kapamilya talent. He became Kapuso and found stardom … and a sweetheart (Carla Abellana) to boot.
As Kapamilya, she was known as Isabel Abierra. Sweet girl. She changed image (sexy) and name (Max Collins) and turned into a Kapuso star. She also found a boyfriend, Pancho Magno. They are said to be engaged.
Ellen Adarna started with GMA, where she didn’t make it. ABS-CBN saw her potential and, as they say, “the rest is history.” Well, not quite, but Ellen out to be a competent actress.
Geoff Eigenmann is no longer with GMA and has appeared in some ABS-CBN shows. But no word yet if Channel 2 is signing up Geoff.
Well, Willie Revillame is a big, big, hit wherever he is: TV5, ABS-CBN, or GMA, where his “Wowowin” is a toprater.
Sharon Cuneta and Aga Muhlach were Kapatid (TV5 for sometime), but things didn’t work out. They’re back as ABS-CBN talents.
