Meralco is once again tapping the services of Bobby Parks Best Import award winner Allen Durham as they try to make up for their failed bid last season.
Meralco mentor Norman Black confirmed this yesterday adding that the 6-foot-5 Durham is arriving on July 4.
“We’ll have him as import,” said Black.
The Governors’ Cup, the third conference of the pro league, will begin on July 19 with the Bolts going for redemption after the team’s heartbreaking six-game defeat to the Ginebra Kings.
Durham helped power the fourth-seeded Meralco into the finals after stunning the top-seeded TNT KaTropa in the semis.
The Bolts defeated the KaTropa, 3-1, in the best-of-five semifinal showdown that gave them their first championship berth in franchise history, or since joining the PBA back in 2010.
Meralco lost to the Justin Brownlee-led Barangay Ginebra San Miguel when the Kings’ import buried a game-winning triple in Game 6.
