Lyceum has never made to the Final Four since it joined the NCAA six seasons ago.
The Pirates are hoping the coming season could be the start of something good for the team.
And there are tell-tale signs that the Pirates are heading that way.
They made good account of themselves in their recent stint in the Filoil Flying V Premier Cup that saw them losing by a hairline to the UAAP champion La Salle in the semis.
Carrying the hopes of a school aching to see them progress in the Final Four are CJ Perez, Cameroonian Mike Harry Nzeusseu and the talented twins Jaycee and Jayvee Marceilino.
The school’s best showing so far was sixth twice – in 2011 and 2013.
Perez started his collegiate career at San Sebastian before being recruited by Ateneo. But he never stayed there for long for unknown reason and he’s now Lyceum’s go-to-guy.
The 6-foot-5 Nzeusseu started in Cebu before bringing his act to the Pirates.
The Marcelinos, for their part, are combo guards from Olongapo who came in from Adamson.
