At least 84 policemen, including two officials who were caught in pot session and aiding the trapped Abu Sayyaf in Bohol, are set to be dismissed from the Philippine National Police (PNP) for various offenses that are mostly illegal drugs-related.
Director General Ronald dela Rosa, PNP chief, said the looming dismissal of 84 more policemen is a proof that that they are serious in purging the organization of scalawags and misfits.
“This is a proof that we are serious in what we are doing. More will come because as I have said, we are implanting a no-mercy policy on illegal activities involving policemen,” said dela Rosa.
He said those who would be dismissed are Supt. Maria Christina Nobleza who was caught in a checkpoint in Clarin town, Bohol, in April this year while allegedly trying to rescue trapped and wounded Abu Sayyaf fighters.
“I will sign it today,” referring to the recommendation made by the Internal Affairs Service on the administrative case slapped against Nobleza.
Also included is Supt. Lito Cabamongan who was caught in a pot session with a woman in Las Pinas City three months ago.
Earlier, dela Rosa disclosed that a total of 160 cops were already dismissed from the service since he assumed post, most of them are facing drugs charges.
