10 a.m. – Sta. Elena vs Megabuilders
1 p.m. – Cignal vs Air Force
4 p.m. – BaliPure vs Perlas
6:30 p.m. – UP vs Creamline
Early semifinalist Creamline stakes its immaculate record today even as BaliPure and Power Smashers clash for at least a playoff berth in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at The Arena in San Juan City.
The Cool Smashers gun for their sixth straight victory in as many matches when they meet with the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons at 6:30 p.m., while the Water Defenders and the Power Smashers tangle at 4 p.m.
Creamline proved it can still function strongly even without its top player Alyssa Valdez after sweeping the Power Smashers, 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.
But against a hungry and young team like UP, Creamline needs to double its effort if it wants to stay unbeaten.
The Lady Maroons are eager to climb from the bottom standings after dropping to 1-4 following a 30-28, 21-25, 25-21,25-18 loss to Perlas-BanKo three days back.
But the Cool Smashers, who currently leads the Attacking and Service Departments, have a strong arsenal in Pau Soriano and Rosemarie Varagas, as well as talented Jia Morado.
Currently the best setter in the conference with a 13-set average per frame, Morado provides variation of plays to strengthen Creamline’s net offense.
But UP is unfazed of Creamline’s strength as it boasts of Isa Molde and Diana Carlos for counterattacks.
Meanwhile, BaliPure and Power Smashers try to bounce back from their recent defeats after slipping to 2-2 and 2-3 records, respectively.
The Water Defenders are coming off a tough 23-25, 25-21, 25-19, 18-25, 15-11 defeat over Hair Fairy Air Force, while the Power Smashers are reeling from a straight-set loss to Creamline.
