Suspected drug lord Peter Lim has been ordered to appear before the Department of Justice (DoJ) this month.
State prosecutors have issued a subpoena to Lim who is listed as residing in Cebu City to appear during preliminary investigation hearings set on August 14 and 17.
“You are hereby warned that failure on your part to comply with this subpoena shall be considered as waiver to present your defense in the preliminary investigation and the case shall be submitted for resolution,” read the subpoena.
The subpoena was signed by Assistant State Prosecutors Aristotle Reyes and Michael John Humarang who will handle the preliminary investigation over the drug complaints filed before the DoJ against Lim and his co-respondents.
The complaint was filed by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) who accused Lim and his co-respondents of violating Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Those who have been named as Lim’s co-respondents are self-confessed drug trader Rolan “Kerwin” Espinosa who is already in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); convicted drug lord Peter Co who is already languishing at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP); arrested drug supplier Lovely Adam Impal; and other drug personalities identified as Marcelo Adorco, Max Miro, Ruel Malindangan, and Jun Pepito.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has already placed all eight respondents in the Immigration Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO).
