Kapuso star Gabby Concepcion has said that he hopes to work with Marian Rivera in a future project for GMA 7.
“Si Marian (Rivera) sana makasama ko rin because she’s one of the big stars of GMA,” said Concepcion when asked who among the actresses he would like to work with, during an interview on “24 Oras” news program on the same network recently.
Concepcion has just arrived from the Seoul, South Korea where he received an award at the 12th Seoul International Drama Awards for his role of a cheating husband on the afternoon drama “Ika-6 Na Utos.” It’s his first international award.
“I owe it to GMA atsaka sa mga kasama ko sa ‘Ika-6 Na Utos.’ ’Yung mga talinong writers, ’yung mga galing ng artista, mga galing ng director, interpretation ng mga director,” Concepcion added.
“Ika-6 Na Utos,” a drama series which tackles infidelity, revenge and friendship, is the current No.1 afternoon teleserye in the country. It also stars Sunshine Dizon, Ryza Cenon, Mike Tan and Angelika dela Cruz.
In Seoul, Concepcion said that he met several Asian stars and other producers and directors. He said that he is open to the idea of working for an international project. “My doors are open to anything. Hindi ko inaasahan maraming kumuha ng number ko.”
Aside from Concepcion, other recipients of Asia Star Award were Debbie Goh (Malaysia), Hyunri (Japan), SatyadeepMisra (India), and Sukollawat Kanarot (Thailand).
In his acceptance speech posted on Instagram, Concepcion said: “I would like to thank the Seoul International Drama Awards. This would be the first time for me to receive an award in this magnitude. This is something very special to me. I would like to thank GMA 7. Thank you Atty. Gozon. It is his birthday today. Happy Birthday! This one is for you.
“IKA 6 NA UTOS would not have been possible if not for the BRILLIANT minds of our SCRIPT WRITERS, ACTORS, DIRECTORS, staff and crew. I would like to dedicate this to my children, to the filipinos who are here today; to our KOREAN FRIENDS here and in the Philippines. To our INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS who have always been there to love and support us all these years,” Concepcion added. (Robert R. Requintina)
