Who’s afraid of gigantic insects? So many are.
They’re certainly not for the faint of heart.
On Matanglawin TV recently, I held up a glass box with a tiny scorpion inside. I warned viewers that despite the scorpion’s size, it carries Level 5 venom like a cobra.
Level 5 venom means once you’ve been stung by this tiny scorpion, the victim would die within 30 minutes. This type of scorpion is a Death Stalker and could be found in the African desert.
Contrary to popular belief, a scorpion is not an insect but an arachnid like a spider. The number of legs (arachnids have eight while insects have six) differentiate the two.

In the book, Living with Folk Wisdom by Abercio V. Rotor, Ph.D., the good professor writes that you can make your own safe drinking water at home.
Dr. Rotor says: With all the empty plastic bottles around, you can prepare safe drinking water just by adding crushed seeds of malunggay. Fill up a liter size bottle with water coming from the tap or if you are in the province, a deep well or spring.
Add two malunggay seeds crushed by hand. Allow to settle for two to three hours or until the sediments have settled down. Slowly transfer the filtrate to another bottle for immediate or future use.
