Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner Christian Robert Lim has been designated as “acting chairman” following the resignation of their chairman, Andres Bautista.
Comelec spokesman James Jimenez announced the designation of Lim yesterday.
According to the poll official, the members of the en banc, during an executive session, “unanimously voted” to select Lim who is the most senior among the commissioners.
“Until a new chairman has been appointed, Com. Lim will be the acting chairman,” he said.
Jimenez said Lim can very well do the job since he has an experience in managing elections.
“If you will recalł when Chairman (Sixto) Brillantes retired he was also the acting chairman. He started the preparations for the 2016 elections,” he said.
