THE remains of actress-singer Isabel Granada arrived from Doha, Qatar at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Parañaque City yesterday morning.
Members of the Philippine Air Force draped the Philippine flag on the casket of the actress as she was given full military honors for serving the PAF as airwoman second class.
Arnel Cowley, partner of Isabel, wept openly as soon as he saw the casket of the former movie star.
“We did things together, we traveled together…Now that she’s gone, I really don’t know what I’m going to do pero somehow I’m going to try to push through. She was a loving wife, a caring person. She’s always giving time to people and she’s just a people’s person. Very loving…” said Cowley, in an interview on ABS CBN.
Hubert Thomas Jericho Granada Aguas, son of Isabel and former husband Geryk Genasky Aguas were also present at the airport for the arrival of the remains.
Actress Bianca Lapus, a close friend of Isabel, said that the wake of her friend will be held at the Santuario de San Jose in Greenhills, Mandaluyong City.
The public viewing will be held starting today, Friday, Nov. 10, and Saturday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. only.
The cremation of Isabel’s remains is scheduled on Sunday, Nov. 12, following a final mass at 1 p.m., she said.
Lapus said that the cremation will start at 2 p.m. and will go back to Santuario de San Jose at 4 p.m.
On Oct. 24, the 41-year-old television star was rushed to a hospital in Qatar after she collapsed while attending the Philippine Trade and Tourism Conference 2017.
Doctors said that Isabel suffered from a brain hemorrhage which indicates aneurysm and in turn affected her heart. Isabel went comatose until she passed away last Nov. 4.
