MORE INTENSE CHAPTER TWO: Every chance I get, I tune in to Pusong Ligaw, a multi-level series of love stories piled into one hot, engaging afternoon series.
The thickening plot is played out by a perfectly chosen cast, whose actors shine consistently in scene after scene. I like it more because Pusong Ligaw has allowed equal opportunity to veteran and young actors who are normally relegated to supporting roles.
At a recent media event, we noted how Joem Bascon, Beauty Gonzales and Bianca King have stepped up to lead roles in a major series with aplomb. Joem, for instance, lands a leading man role in a series for the first time, a break that has eluded the versatile actor for the longest time.
Joem doesn’t disappoint as the focal character torn between Bianca and Beauty. The two ladies are also remarkable in entertaining mother roles so early in their careers.
Like Joem who says he plays every role, be it support or lead (in indie films, he gets to play lead) with equal dedication, Bianca and Beauty claim they consider playing mommy roles more than a challenge. It’s a test of character.

FIRST LOVE NEVER DIES: In Book 2 of Pusong Ligaw, watch for the answers to the following:
Will love find its way back in the hearts of Tessa (Beauty Gonzales) and Caloy (Joem Bascon), Vida (Sofia Andres), and Potpot (Diego Loyzaga)?
How will Jaime (Raymond Bagatsing) take to a renewed love affair between Tessa and Caloy?
After doing what they think was right by turning their back on love, Caloy and Potpot keep crossing paths with the women they really love.
Caloy becomes part of Tessa’s new business venture that allows them to see each other more often and rekindle the connection they once had. As the two get along, Caloy begins to reminisce the days he fell in love with Tessa and compares them with his cold relationship with Marga.
Potpot, meanwhile, continues to climb the ladder of success abroad and finally comes back home, only to find Vida and Rafa (Enzo Pineda) happy in each other’s company.
Will Potpot give way to Rafa and finally let Vida go? How long can Caloy stay with Marga? Will he finally listen to his heart and give his love for Tessa a second shot?
The new chapter of “Pusong Ligaw” airs weekdays after “It’s Showtime” on ABS-CBN and on ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167).
