VERSUS – Who’s the current drama king?
Piolo Pascual versus John Lloyd Cruz?
Can’t really say as the two actors just mentioned are almost even in acting ability, box-office status, and popularity.
But must be said that Lloydie is more daring in choice of roles-gay, bad guy, good guy, offbeat or whatever.
After Piolo and Lloydie comes Jericho Rosales, a very fine actor but not as bankable and popular.

COMEDY – In the field of comedy, who reigns supreme at the box-office? Vice Ganda, who else.
But let it be said that a big threat to his hold on comedy genre is Paolo Ballesteros, beautiful and a very good actor. He has the awards – local and international – to prove it. Think “Die Beautiful” and the upcoming “Barbi,” originated by Joey de Leon.
But the comedy king and queen are Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai de las Alas. In terms of durability, bankability, and versatility, Vic and Ai-Ai are tested.
Vic is an engaging host – think “Eat Bulaga!” on GMA and “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” which aired on TV5. Ai-Ai also excels in drama – think “Area,” directed by Louie Ignacio, which gave her awards here and abroad.
After Vic and Ai-Ai come Vhong Navarro and Eugene Domingo, very competent actors and host.

These actresses come to mind: Bea Alonzo, Angel Locsin, Toni Gonzaga, Angelica Panganiban, Jennylyn Mercado, Lovi Poe, Carla Abellana.
Also considered are younger ones like Barbie Forteza, Kathryn Bernardo, Therese Malvar.
Highspeed asked the opinion of other writers and the popular choices are Bea and Angel.
