BRITISH WOMEN DO: A study conducted among British women revealing that 50 per cent of them resorted to back-up boyfriends during an existing relationship provided inspiration for a film director in creating his new film.
Director Jason Paul Laxamana says he merely transported such an idea to a Philippine setting, unaware whether or not the same trend holds among Filipino women.
Lead actress Rhian Ramos says, “Maybe there are similar cases here, although they’re not documented.’’
Laxamana says Filipinos generally don’t open up about intimate matters, especially in public. He claims that his thesis might not be completely incorrect.
Nevertheless, he said he maintains his full respect for Filipino women déspite what some may deem as a negative connotation implied by his film.
“My story can be a fodder for discussion. I think every film should stir people’s interest and serve as a forum for different opinions.’’

Upon the advice of a colleague to look for a second option in case her relationship ends, she befriends her ex-boyfriend, Alvin (ZanjoeMarudo), making him her fallback.

RHIAN MORE THAN A SECOND LOOK: A I caught Fallback at the cinema when it opened and was quite impressed with Rhian Ramos’ performance.
This young actress deserves more than a second look. She registers so beautifully on the big screen and is such a natural actor. She has sexy moves, too.
Here’s hoping Rhian shall land more challenging roles and bigger projects.
