Foton Serbian coach Moro Branislav was delighted with the team’s impressive win over F2 Logistics the last time out, but insists their mission in the 2017 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix is far from over.
“We shouldn’t be satisfied with this win (against F2 Logistics),” said Branislav. “It’s still a long way to go for us and we have a lot of things to work on.”
But Branislav is hoping their 17-25, 32-20, 25-9, 20-25, 16-14 win over the erstwhile unbeaten F2 would serve as an additional fuel when they clash with the UST-Victoria Sports at 7 p.m.
Foton is currently tied with F2 and Petron for the lead with similar 6-1 records.
Meanwhile, Cocolife tries to tighten its grip of the fourth spot when it collides with Sta. Lucia in the 4:15 p.m. opener.
The Lifesavers tote a 3-3 win-loss record, just half a game ahead of fifth-running Cignal (3-4). The Lady Realtors, for their part, are carrying a dismal 1-5 mark.
Import Sara Klisura was rampant in their win over F2 but against UST she does not need to be as intense and sharp for Foton to win.
UST, for one, has no import to rely on, and all it wants is to gain confidence in time for the UAAP season.
Against F2, she was almost unstoppable she scored a league best 41 points.
Branislav, however, does not want his team to relax even a bit as he and the team intend to enter the playoffs with a winning feeling.
The No. 1 team at the end of elims will face the eighth-seeded squad, the No. 2 team faces the No. 7 squad, third seed collides with the sixth seed, and the fourth-ranked team battles the fifth-ranked squad in the knockout quarterfinals stage starting on Dec. 5.
Apart from Klisura, Branislav also has import Dragana Perunicic and Jaja Santiago to rely as well as CJ Rosario, Maika Ortiz and setter Ivy Perez.
