HOMETOWN – Ellen Adarna is said to be quitting showbiz and going back to Cebu, her hometown. She was told that she might have a hard time adjusting to life in the south after years of staying in Manila.
Ellen said she’d help in the businesses of her father.
She comes from a wealthy Filipino-Chinese family, which owns hotels in Cebu and is also engaged in construction in Cebu and Davao.
Ellen’s grandfather built the Temple of Leah, said to be Cebu’s version of Taj Mahal in Agra (India). Nearly finished, the Temple of Leah is dedicated to her late grandmother.
Cebu, by the way, is as progressive and busy and crowded as Manila. The hometown girl, Ellen (who else), may not miss Manila after all.

RUMORED PREGNANCY – As of this writing, Ellen has neither denied nor confirmed that she’s pregnant, carrying John Lloyd Cruz baby.
Her manager said that whatever it is – confirm or deny pregnancy – will come from Ellen herself.
Ellen was quoted as saying that John Lloyd was burnt out and that the European holiday with her was a much needed and welcome break.
While Ellen’s famous (infamous?) for her romantic flings and sexy image, she actually starred in two good films… and earned good reviews.
They are in Gil Portes’ “Twinkle” and “Moonlight Over Baler.”

OFF TO TURKEY – From Mel Caparas this item.
Miss Globe International 2016 Toni Alyessa Hipolito flies to Turkey in December to crown her successor in the 2017 edition of Miss Globe International.
Last year, the pageant was cancelled due to security problems in Turkey, but Toni was proclaimed winner by the organizers led by Rasim Aydin because of her popularity in the pageant’s site.
Toni is the second Filipina to win the crown after Maricar Balagtas in 2001.
This year, the country will be represented by Ina Patricia Gita.
