PRIDE MARCH – The City in reference is of course Quezon City, which will host this year’s the most anticipated Pride March, participated in by Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, and Transgenders… LGBT. And their friends and supporters and sympathizers.
The QC LGBT Pride March is set for Dec. 9 at the Morato area, streets of fine-dining, casual, and fast-food restaurants. Also stand-up and other bars.
The city government headed by Mayor Herbert Bautista and Councilor Mayen Juico are committed to protecting the rights of their constituents, including (and especially) the LGBT community.
The Pride March is billed QC Wonderland, showcasing and recognizing the achievements LGBT in the fields of fashion and allied crafts and arts.
Come one, come all is the battle cry of Councilor Juico.

KUYA GERMS – Fondly remembered and sadly missed is Kuya Germs (Moreno), who rightly billed Quezon City the City of Stars.
This is the last term of Mayor Herbert and hopefully he’ll implement the plan to develop Morato and nearby streets into the hub of entertainment in QC. Within the area are ABS-CBN and GMA studios. That will be his legacy to QC showbiz, of which Herbert was (still is) a member.
It’s wonderful to hear that Kuya Germs’ son, Federico, is maintaining the Walk of Fame in Eastwood. Recently, more names were added to list of stars on the Walk of Fame, among them the late Isabel Granada. Her mom, fondly called Mama Guapa, shed tears when she attended the event.
Mama Guapa plans to return to her native land, Spain, saying she’s all alone in the Philippines. Her husband and daughter are gone. Isabel’s son is with his father. She has siblings and other relatives in Spain.
As Spanish-speaking Kuya Germs could have said: Adios Mama Guapa! Vaya con Dios!
